Very well done.  I used to draw maps like this on the poster paper with pencils but never gave them colers..I love what you do with this...mine were fun..yours are art.

You're welcome! I'm working on a Pathfinder campaign and therefore a map and have been scrolling though maps for the past several days. I don't suppose you've done any tutorials have you?

Ah nice :) No, I've never made a tutorial, I just followed lots of tutorials myself to make my own maps and then I gave it my own personal touch.

Check the cartographers' guild site/forum, they have lots of tutorials there. It might help you ;)

I've found a couple, mostly calligraphy reference for landmarks, towns, ect. I'm sill learning to draw/color digitally so it's an ongoing process.

Ok, awesome. Thank you!

Nice shading on the mountains. How did you create that elevation-effect on the coastline, and how did you do your trees, if I may ask? :)

The elevation effect is simply a bevel and emboss effect made in Photoshop. With the right settings it works just great for what I intend.

I used a 5 px soft brush for the trees with very low roundness to give it a pointy look. Using scatter and color dynamics will do the rest :)
